If you love food, you’re in the right place. Eatgoodbaby.ca is a space to celebrate food. I believe eating well is about enjoying every bite, creating memories, and bringing people together. Although I try to eat foods that are healthy for my body a majority of the time, I believe indulging in the “naughty” foods once in a while is a part of enjoying life. So deep-fried goodness and delicious desserts will not be excluded from this blog. I try to keep my recipes simple and will offer options for those who don’t like to use their kitchen. However, I believe in simplicity and efficiency! If I can make it, you can too.

Hey foodies! I’m so glad you have come across this blog. Allow me to introduce myself. You can call me Bran! I’m a 24-year-old Canadian foodie. Besides my passion for food, I enjoy writing, photography & film. I decided to put them together and create eatgoodbaby.ca.

Interested in working with me? Occasionally I may create sponsored posts for brands that are a good fit for eatgoodbaby.ca. Send me an email for more info!

I’ve always had a large appetite. Growing up my plate size would look similar to my uncles’. Mountain of spaghetti? Sign me up. I started learning to cook at a very young age and took cooking all through high school because well, duh I’m a foodie. I ate everything and tried to ignore any stomach problem that came with it! I graduated in 2014 and was accepted to study Journalism. Right before I moved off to college I got hit with an emergency hospital trip. I was admitted to the hospital for a week and was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.

Looking back I probably shouldn’t have left my hometown for college right away but at the time I ignored how sick I was. Now, I don’t regret leaving because I made some great memories but I was put on multiple treatments, was constantly in and out of the hospital, and I started avoiding food. I went through a lot of trial and error with my diet. Now there are good recipes that are Crohn’s friendly however, I was severely sick so food was no longer my friend. After two years of failed treatments, I moved home. In 2017 I ended up living in the hospital for almost a month and had to get emergency surgery on my small intestine. I was so sick, skinny, and fragile. It was one of the hardest things I have ever gone through however four years post-surgery, I can say that surgery changed my life. When I was released from the hospital I was put on a treatment called Remicade and am still on it to this day.

Now here’s where the story gets fun. It took some time but I got stronger, I started adding foods back into my diet, I gained weight and life is better than it was. Crohn’s is incurable but I’ve learned a lot through out my journey that has helped mild my symptoms. My appreciation for food is beyond words. Now I still have a few foods I’m a bit nervous to fully dive back into eating such as raw tomatoes so I apologize if there is a lack of raw tomato recipes on this blog. However, maybe we will get there one day, who knows.

Since the Pandemic started I’ve reflected a lot on what makes me happy. My love of writing remains and my appetite is back in business so I created this blog. Thank you for visiting my page and taking the time to read my story. I’m so excited about this food journey together. Let’s eat good baby!! 🙂

*PS. If you happen to be a fellow Crohnie or know someone with Crohn’s feel free to ask me for advice anytime.
