These fire roasted cinnamon apples are such a tasty dessert for a comfy night around the fire. I have such fond memories of eating these on camping trips growing up. They taste very similar to a warm apple pie filling. Furthermore they are super simple to make! You can use any type of apple however I find a Red Delicious or Granny Smith apple will give you the best results.
You can eat these right from the stick just like a candy apple or even cut them up and place them on top of vanilla ice cream. If your going for an apple pie/apple crumble feeling I seriously suggest trying these out with ice-cream! You can even get creative and add some granola to the mix. Over the years I have found it so much fun to come up with clever snacks by the fire with family and friends. So go ahead and have fun with it!
For the purposes of my this post I stuck to my go to simple recipe and enjoyed eating it right from the stick. If you don’t like to get your hands dirty by all means use a fork and knife but its a fire night no need to be classy! I do suggest waiting a few minutes when you remove the apple from the flames. I’ve personally been a victim to a burnt tongue by being impatient so please learn for my mistake and let it cool for a moment!

QUICK TIP FOR cooking the CINNAMON APPLES
I recommend using a roasting stick (campfire fork), or find a strong enough stick to hold an apple. You don’t want to lose your apple in the fire! Also, you want it to be long enough that your hands aren’t to hot by the fire. It takes a bit of time to get the apple fully roasted. You want to avoid having to much heat by your hand.
